Food poisoning in kids

With Thanksgiving fast approaching thought and care should be taken when it comes to safely preparing and serving your Thanksgiving dinner. Children under age 5 are especially susceptible to food poisoning because their immune systems aren't fully developed.

Here are some tips:

  • Keep hot foods hot and cold foods cold.
  • Wash your hands before preparing food in between preparing different food courses and after you've finished making the meal.
  • Turkey chicken or pork should be thoroughly cooked. Ensure that there are no pink juices coming from the meat when ready to serve.
Buy pasteurized fruit juices.
