July 2008: Lifestyle, life-work balance, stress, & childhood obesity
This month on the HealthyCanada.com podcast: Toby Ward and Dr. Art Hister welcome Dr. Susan Biali (from Cabo San Lucas, Mexico) to the podcast to discuss lifestyle and life-work balance.
“It’s not rocket science; focus on the fundamentals: get enough sleep, eat properly, and exercise,” says Dr. Susan. “Particularly when things get crazy. And having more fun – I truly believe that. We take life so seriously. ”
“I would add in one other one: don’t smoke,” says Dr. Art. “Sleep is the one that everyone puts at the bottom of the list. Lack of proper sleep or inadequate sleep contributes to so many of the miseries of life – including problems in weight control.”
- Stress and its affects on life and disease prevention / recovery
- Childhood obesity and heart disease the controversial recommendations for introducing the use of statin drugs for kids
